Torchwood

Mickey and his friends lead us over to what they called "the Invisible Lift" which we didn't believe at first but it turns out there WAS an invisible lift. It was so cool. We went down into this, like, underground bunker, or The Hub as it was known.

The minute we hit the floor, the handsome guy, Jack headed into his office, leaving us with Mickey, and the pretty dark haired woman who immediately said
"Hello. I'm Gwen Cooper. It's lovely to meet you both" in the most beautiful Welsh accent I'd ever heard.

We sat and chatted with Gwen for half an hour while Mickey set about playing around with the computer and this other guy, Ianto Jones, made us drinks of Hot Chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows. They were so nice.

After that time, Jack returned with piles of information about the Doctor... and my mother. I read through them. They included her blogs, the ones she had written while travelling with the Doctor, including her goodbye blog which she had written while the Doctor was saying goodbye to the other people who had travelled in the TARDIS, including Jack himself. Jack told me that the Doctor had fiddled with my mum's blog so that she could never get into it. Made sense, really.

All the information before me didn't actually tell me much about how to find the Doctor, but I soon found myself really wanting to meet him. He seemed amazing.

After a few hours of Doctor related research and Jack tips on how to find him, Gwen offered to drive us home to Chiswick as she didn't want us getting the train so late. We didn't want her to have to drive us so far but she insisted, and so we bundled into her car, me in the front, Millie in the back, and drove down the M4.

Mickey Smith

I realise I haven't posted for a while. I'm sure many of you are so keenly awaiting my next blog (yeah right).

Anyway, at 3am on Saturday, Millie and I were dropped off at Paddington Station by Gramps, where we caught the train from there to Cardiff Central. It was a pretty quick, easy journey and we placed snap and other games on our DS's, and at biscuits.

Here we are on the train:

When we arrived in Cardiff, we had no idea what we were really looking for. Millie googled Mickey Smith's address, which she found a little too quickly (computer hacker, I swear), so we made our way to it, but before we got there, we saw him, somewhere near the Millenium Centre with a group of people, which included a very pretty dark haired woman, and a very handsome guy.

Millie, being Millie, approached them, specifically Mickey, and demanded
"Are you Mickey Smith?"
"Erm.. yeah" came his reply. I laughed, and tried my best to quieten Millie. Didn't work.
"Did you release a virus on the internet wiping all record of the Doctor?"
"That was nearly twenty years ago" he looked a little nervous. Many people would in his situation. At this point, the very handsome guy asked
"How do you know about the Doctor?" to which I replied "My Great-grandfather told me about him... He's my dad."
"Right, and your name is..?" the very handsome guy asked.
"Grace"

"Grace.. what?"
"Noble." his face almost visibly fell at this, and he muttered to the pretty dark haired woman
"I was afraid this might happen"

Anyway, this group of people decided that me and Millie should come with them. I hesitated at first but when the guy, who I found out was called Jack, said "I can help you find the Doctor" I was convinced.

More tomorrow.

Googling.

Well, I tried googling again. No such luck. I don't know what's going on with the internet. Then I let Millie the Geek try. She will deny her geekiness, but give her a computer and she's in her element. She hacked into the google mainframe, and found out that in 2005, a virus was released online by one Mickey Smith, who we later discovered worked for the "secret" underground agency Torchwood, which wiped all entries about the Doctor from the web.

Fortunately, Millie soon found a forum dedicated to finding the Doctor and FULL of conspiracy theories about him, and other alien life. Lo and behold, there was mention of my mother. Millie and I read in awe as we were told that an ancient Roman artefact had been uncovered, showing the Doctor, his blue box, and my mother. It was all very bizarre.

After we spent a good hour on that forum, reading through the posts, and were interrupted by mum popping her head through the door, at which point we had to pull up a webpage about the "teen singing sensation" Millie is just crazy about, we checked for train prices to Cardiff, deciding that the best thing to do would be to find this Mickey Smith at Torchwood, who clearly knew the Doctor and could possibly know where to find him.

Here we are playing on the computer:

So, on Saturday morning, I will be catching the train to Cardiff with Millie, and hopefully we will find him. It's crazy, it all seems to be happening so quickly.

Anyway, I need to go and persuade mother to let me leave town with Millie on Saturday.

Bye.

Dad...

I just had a row with mum. Don't get me wrong, I love the woman to bits, but sometimes she's just.. soo… argh. You know?

Anyway, I skulked up the hill to sit with Great-Gramps, to ask him about my dad, as mum remembers nothing and Gran never mentions him, other than to say his name was "John Smith" which just sounds extremely fake to me, I mean, come on? Who really goes by the name John Smith?

So up the hill I skulked, greeted by Great-Gramps's grin and hug as usual. He always manages to make things better. He's getting rather old now, but he's showing no signs of EVER slowing down. Plus everyone loves him. It's hard not to love Wilf.

So we sat beneath the stars, and he told me of the time he had sat in that spot 17 years previously, watching mum fly off into the distance with a man named The Doctor. He told me about all these wonderful things she did, places she saw, and then, he told me about the Earth being invaded by aliens which looked like giant metal pepper pots, who were terrifying, and known as Daleks. I listened, eagerly, as I obviously would. He said that this was at the time when the 26 planets appeared in the sky – an event I knew had occurred about the time I was conceived, while mum was still travelling with this doctor.

He told me about how mum had saved the universe and had to have her memory wiped by the Doctor, then he said she could never be told, or she would burn up, her mind would completely destroy her. He told me that mum hadn't gone out on that night, and that he believed that I was a result of an instantaneous biological metacrisis which had occurred between the Doctor and my mother.. I didn't really believe him until he told me that the Doctor had two hearts.

I have two hearts.

So now, I have to find him, I need to find this Doctor, the Doctor and his blue box (which Great-Gramps said was called a TARDIS), and find out who he is, and all without mum finding out, as I really don't want her head to burn up… I've searched for him online, but there's not much information. I'll have to ask Millie. She's a bit of a computer nerd (love you Mil, but you are) she'll know how to search for him properly.

Anyway, bedtime.

Night All

A Few Ponderings....

It's weird growing up without a dad. I see all my friends with their cosy little family units. Brothers, sisters, both parents, and it makes me feel a little odd. I live with my mother, my beautiful mother who I love to pieces, and my gran, and my mum's granddad. I have never met my dad, and I don't know anything about him. Mum doesn't even remember him. She's not, like, this huge slut, she's just got the worst memory in the world. Honestly. Gran said she used to have a great memory, but it all changed about the time I was conceived.

Despite feeling weird, I wouldn't change my family for the world. I love each and every one of them more than anything. I see how my friends fight with their brothers and sisters and I count myself lucky that I don't have to share my mum with anyone, unless you count Aunt Veena, but she spoils me too, so it's not all bad.

Anyway, that's enough from me today.. Mum's calling. I think Dinner's ready.
